Arlington School Committee
Thank You, Arlington!
The unofficial results are in—and what a remarkably close race it was!
First and foremost, I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Crystal Haynes Copithorne. She is a valued voice in our community, and our students are fortunate to have her continued advocacy on the School Committee. I also want to congratulate Dmitry Vasilyev for his dedicated work in uplifting student voices throughout this campaign.
While this election asked voters to choose a single candidate, Arlington is at its strongest when we move beyond the ballot box and work as true collaborators.
My commitment to our students did not start with this campaign, and it certainly does not end with it. The mission of improving outcomes and experiences for every child in our district remains my top priority.

The calendar ahead is already full of opportunity. As Town Meeting convenes on April 27th, I am ready to vote to fund the Ottoson and Hardy feasibility studies. I also eagerly anticipate the formal recommendations from the Math Pathways Task Force later this spring—a project that exemplifies the data-driven, student-centered progress I will always champion.
I am thrilled that Arlington decisively voted YES to Keep Arlington Strong! Our schools will continue to thrive with this necessary funding.
To the neighbors who hosted signs, the supporters who spread the word, and the voters who shared your stories with me, I sincerely thank you. I am incredibly proud to have earned your confidence.
The work together continues!
With deep gratitude,
Shaun
