About Me
As a fourth generation educator, the value of public schools and the impact of having opportunities in the classroom were never questioned. They were the foundation of purpose. The call to teach was impossible to ignore, and so I specialized in urban education and received a Master's Degree in Education from Wheelock College. An internship year in Cambridge Public Schools led to nearly a decade working in the district as a classroom teacher. Later my passion for equity in math education paved the way for me to become a middle school math instructional coach in Cambridge.

Our family grew in 2013 when my husband and I welcomed our first child. We soon chose Arlington as our new home, and moved here in 2014. Both our children attend Arlington Public Schools, and are currently at Brackett and Gibbs. My dedication to education and public service continued as a parent in Arlington. I volunteered for several working groups for Arlington Public Schools, serve as an elected Town Meeting Member, attended Arlington's Civic Academy, and am the President of our Brackett PTO.
At home, our house is a cacophony of family fun! The eldest of five, I am fortunate to have family close by, even as close as our basement apartment! In 2022, we welcomed an Arlington High School exchange student into our home. She quickly became family too. We talk to her every week, and she visits us every year. We were all so excited when we got to visit her in her home of Madrid, Spain.

Our kids love to play Dungeons & Dragons and Magic The Gathering. At the dinner table we are often talking about all things fantasy! When not setting out on adventures of imagination playing board games together, our family loves to travel the United States. It is our goal to visit all the amazing National Parks & Monuments. If you like games or trivia too, you can often catch me with my siblings at Donut Villa on Wednesday nights for Trivia!

From a military family, I have lived in six diverse states, experiencing both small town and big city life. Of all the places I’ve lived, Arlington continues to inspire me with its community spirit and commitment to inclusion and belonging.

I am proud to raise my children here and to call Arlington my forever home.
